'We must journey on'

The title of this song is also used as the title for Allan Taylor's songbook, volume 1. An appropriate choice as the book tells of the stories behind his songs and of his travels throughout the world.

Many people can relate to the words of this song - whether it be because of a broken relationship, the death of a loved one, the constant journey through life or any number of other interpretations of moving on and leaving behind something shared..

Jimmy and Val

And so it comes to this
A fond farewell, a final kiss
A casual smile and then you're gone
We must journey on

We touched the joy of spring
And flew like swallows on the wing
And raced it t'wards the summer sun
We must journey on

But summer passed to soon
And autumn played a different tune
It matters not who lost or won
We must journey on

So catch it as you can
Fleeting moments in your hand
Hold on tight or they'll be gone
We must journey on

And so it comes to this
A fond farewell, a final kiss
A casual smile and then you're gone
We must journey on
We must journey on
We must journey on
