Seemed like a slow month on the performing front -
other things somehow crept up and demanded attention. On the music side
we:
Finished our North West Expedition with floor
spots at:
Northwich Folk Club
Folk At The Manor
Midway Folk Club
Performed at singers nights in the north east:
Cramlington Folk Club
G String Acoustic Club
Beamish Mary Acoustic Wednesday
Friday Folk Club, Guisborough
Played at Bristol for Music In Hospitals panel
Played at two care homes - one new to us
Played at Nature's World 18th Annual Folk
Festival
Saw Ewen Carruthers at Cramlington Folk Club
Saw few broth at the Blyth Bandstand
Did some 'field recording' at two Northumberland
schools and also at Ford Castle, capturing performances of some Jim
Wigfield songs by the younger generation for possible inclusion on his
planned 'Jim4kids' album
Got a new bone saddle for 'Missy' Taylor 855
12-string (and raised the action slightly), and had the action lowered
on 'Rio' Taylor 910CE-L7 6-string... many thanks to Mark Challinor,
great craftsman luthier and friend too!
Started work on an Anthony John Clarke promo CD
with music tracks, discography, bio, review, etc.
We also did some work helping fix up a friend's PC
and laptop and transferring old files from a Windows 3.11 PC... eek!
Val even managed to
fit in some temping work as well as organising more care home
performances.
We also enjoyed experimenting with Val's new super
duper pocket digital camera - Canon Ixus 100, major plus points are
viewfinder as well as LCD screen (rare these days in pocket digitals) and
great HD video quality... few broth and Fools Gold can vouch for the
latter.
