2010 - half done already! Where does the time go? We had another busy month and only caught a little of the World Cup football and Wimbledon tennis. Instead we:
  • Played support for Hungrytown at Cramlington Folk Club

  • Performed at singers nights in the north east:
    • Carlisle Folk Club
    • Darlington Folk Club
    • Netherton Folk Club
    • Foggy Furze Folk Club, Hartlepool

  • Played in two care homes - one we'd visited previously and one new to us

  • Had a smashing day at Andy & Cath's (Acoustica) - good food and drink, good company, good music (played a short set house concert style)

  • Saw Brian Willoughby & Cathryn Craig at Darlington Folk Club

  • Saw Anthony John Clarke at Denholm Folk Club (we did a floor spot to start the night), at a charity dinner gig in Houghton-le-Spring, and at Guisborough Folk Club

  • Travelled to Liverpool to sort out Anthony John's computer virus/malware problem

  • Had Anthony John & Julia stay with us for a couple of days (even watched some World Cup footie!)

  • Started our North West Expedition with floor spots at:
    • Hungry Horse Acoustic Club
    • Raven Folk Club
    • Folk At The Prospect
    • Sale Folk Club
    • Bromborough Folk Club

The North West Expedition continues with three more folk clubs in the first week of July.

In among our busy June schedule Val even managed to fit in some temping work as well as organising more care home performances. Jimmy also set about the jiva musician/fan page on Facebook... thanks to everyone who has 'liked' this page and become a fan. If you've not already done so it's never too late! www.facebook.com/jivaukmusic.

We also had an afternoon at Woodhorn Colliery Museum where we not only checked out the venue for our upcoming 'Thank Folk It's Friday' performance but also enjoyed a tour around the site, rounding the day off nicely with trip to Druridge Bay and fish & chips in Amble... aah, this is the life... must get down to more writing and rehearsing and planning ahead for our next CD.
