Birthdays, busking, parties, performing, recording,
running, radio, watching... and a holiday too (more of a 'Busman's
Holiday' as we spent most of the evenings at music venues).
Two more busy months behind us and more to come. We:
Spent the last week of August at Brian Bedford's
Parkhead Studio recording and doing initial mixes for jiva's first
'professionally recorded' CD. We now need to somehow find time to listen
to the tracks and plan the next steps.
Played for the Cancer Research UK Relay For Life
event in Gateshead International Stadium.
1. studio guest on Terry Ferdinand's excellent Folk Show where we
surprised him on air by playing the full length Bishop FM song and
presenting him with a professional studio recording of the song and the
cut down jingle version.
2. the opening show of 'Folk Up Front With Ferdinand' - a series
of programmes where Terry chats to his guests about their lives, loves,
music and maybe uncovers a few secrets! The show also features the guest
playing live in the studio and Terry plays some of their
favourite/influential music tracks.
NB - we also wrote and recorded some jingles for the Folk Up
Front series too!
Started work on a new website commission - look
out for www.songtales.co.uk in
the coming weeks!
In addition we've been out and about doing floor
spots around the region and catching up with Allan Taylor at Glenfarg Folk
Club, the Davy Lamp Folk Club and the John Wright tribute concert in
Newcastle. We also saw EmmyLou Harris in concert at Newcastle's City Hall.
More busy times coming up... we need another
holiday...
