1 November 2007

Busy or what! 17 performers this evening and, as one performer was heard to say, 'everyone has been excellent tonight' - he wasn't wrong. It was a smashing night confirming the diversity and talent we have at Ashington Folk Club.

You can Listen to an mp3 Soundbite of the performers.

1
Kicking off the night was Derek Greenacre with a brand new tune written only that morning, and so, still unnamed. He followed this with a rag-time piece by Scott Joplin called 'Maple Leaf Rag'.

2
Back from his holidays and recovered from a nasty cold Jack Hakin was in great form with Jimmy Rogers' 'Waiting For A Train' and the Hank Williams song 'Lonesome Whistle'. And there was some grand yodelling and whistling.

17 acts,  31 songs, tunes and poems  -  really great value. Only £1 admission (It's In The Bag!).
