19th October 2006

There was a low turn out at the Club tonight - shame on you - who cares if Newcastle United won? You missed a great Spotlight!

In the Spotlight this evening was local Northumbrian Piper Ann Sessoms who, with Paul Knox (a very talented piper and violin player), played a mixture of airs, jigs and hornpipes. A great night's entertainment enjoyed by all.

You can Listen to an mp3 Soundbite of each performer, and...

A returnee to the Club (been away a few years) was Geoff Pickard. He began with the Gerry Rafferty song 'Her Daddy Didn't Like Me' and then the traditional 'Calico Printers Clerk'. His second spot brought a Tom Paxton love song 'I Give You The Morning' followed by John Prine's 'The Speed Of The Sound Of Loneliness'.
