jiva
began the evening again
(will it become habit forming?) with two of their own compositions 'Dream On' and 'One
More Song'. |
|
|
|
2
With his12 string guitar this time
Peter Murphy
sang a fine version of 'The
Sad Bells of Rhymney' followed by 'Lord Franklin' telling of the
disastrous mission to discover the North West Passage. |
|
3
In his unmistakable gentle style
Dave Donohoe
was next up with the Procol Harum song 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale'. He
ended his spot with Dylan's 'It's All Over Now Baby Blue'. |
|
|
4
Kevin Robinson
started his turn with his own song 'Easy Living,
Easy Rock' and then surprised us with an unaccompanied version of Paul
Simon's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'. |
|
|
|
|
5
Then we had
Tony Hamblin singing the nautical tale of 'The Handsome Cabin Boy'.
He followed it with a song with a more local connection, 'The Fair
Flower of Northumberland'. |
|
|
|
6
Finishing the first half we had
Pat Yeowart who delighted us with the Janis Ian
song 'At 17' and then the Christine Collister and Clive Gregson
song 'We're Not Over Yet'. |
|
7
Alex
Okon
playing classical guitar
started the second half with Vivaldi's concerto in D Major and followed
this with the Habanera from Carmen by Bizet. |
|
|
8
Then we had
George Rosenthal with 'The Dust
From my Heels' and Billy Mitchell's 'Can't Do Right For Doing Wrong'.
George will be our spotlight act on June 16th - don't miss it! |
|
|
|
|
9
Ben Yeowart sang his own song 'My Best Friend'
and then Bob Dylan's
'The Clothes Saga' - a great favourite of ours. |
|
|
|
10
The back streets of Blyth provided the inspiration for
Zak who had just completed 'Things Will
Never Be The Same' that afternoon. Then we had even more Bob Dylan -
this time 'Forever Young'. |
|
11
Dave Anderson
started with a thought provoking song which he introduced as being for
the times we live in. His second song was 'Bad Timing (That's All)'. |
|
|
12
Final
spot of the night went to Diane
Green
with
'She Moved Through The
Fair' followed by an end of night song, 'Further On Down The Road'. |
